Amazon.com Review The Bakugan Launcher is an optional accessory that adds excitement to the game Bakugan Battle Brawlers. Based on the popular and fun anime TV series of the same name, this strategic game that pits a variety of "Bakugan warriors" against each other for points. Kids ages four and above will love using the launcher to help them score points by shooting their Bakugan warriors onto magnetic cards, where the plastic spheres burst open to reveal the fearsome warrior apparatus inside. It's the same launcher used by "Dan," the hero of the TV show, so fans of the show will get a special thrill from using it!
The Bakugan Launcher sends your Bakugan flying with three shooting modes. View larger. |
There are many colors and varieties of Bakugan to collect. View larger. | | What We Think Fun Factor:
Durability: (what this means)
The Good: Wide variety of Bakugan make them fun for kids to trade and collect
The Bad: No instructions with some toys
In a Nutshell: Clever and exciting interactive game that kids will enjoy even if they're not familiar with the TV show | At a Glance Ages: 6 to 12 | | | NOTE: The Bakugan Launcher includes a single launcher with a wrist strap. Bakugan warriors are sold separately. Ready, Aim, Fire! There are no instructions with the optional Bakugan Launcher, which is made of sturdy, lightweight plastic. But it's a straightforward accessory: simply load the Bakugan and fire away! There are two additional Bakugan compartments on either side of the launcher. The wrist strap is a great accessory that your child can use to help steady the launcher as he fires. Exciting Magnetic Action The Bakugan Launcher has three shooting modes ("curve," "angle, and "distance"). It holds three Bakugan, and straps to your child's wrist -- just like Dan's! Though kids can roll the Bakugan just like marbles, the Launcher adds an element of excitement to their Bakugan battles. Room for the Imagination Though we thought the launcher was a great accessory, but our attempts to fire it proved somewhat difficult. Instructions would have helped. If you and your child can figure it out how to fire it effectively -- especially how to use the three shooting modes -- the launcher is sure to increase their enjoyment of the game and add variety to their play. Reminds Me of The Capsule Shooter August 19, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The design of this product reminds me of the Capsule Shooter from Yu-Gi-Oh Capsule Monsters. The reason I am reviewing this product is for one reason. Awhile ago I met a kid named Brandon who's mom worked at Dunkin Donuts. We went to Wal-Mart and bought part 1 of Capsule Monsters and we thought that the Capsule Shooter should be made into a product. And we promised each other if one of us could find one, we'd buy one for each other. So if I can get in touch with him I will tell him to get this Bakugan Launcher because they make a good match.
Needs some basic instructions August 4, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My 6yo son bought this today with a gift card he received for his birthday. We got it at Target, and I thought $15 was a little much to spend on a toy like this. After getting it out of the package, there were no directions at all, not even something basic on how to use the item. Right away my ds had problems, and I wasn't much better at getting it to launch. I came here to see the reviews on the product and my heart sank (Should have told ds to wait so we could check reviews before purchasing).
However, I must say the reviews here are such a great resource. Because a previous reviewer recommended watching a YouTube video on how to use the launcher. This was very helpful in two ways: first, you pull part of the launcher tube forward and place the bakugan into the hole in the top side of the tube. Second, the launcher can come off the wrist band. One YouTube video recommended placing the launcher on the floor/table, which makes the wrist band kind of useless. My son is now enjoying the launcher much more, although it still could be so much better in my opinion.
Don't waste your money July 28, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this for my son for his birthday. It look really cool, but its not functional and quite frankly sucks. It didn't work right and we ended up taking it back.
Watch U-Tube how-to video July 23, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This isn't so mauch a review as a hint to other Bakugan Launcher owners. My son owns one and likes it. At first he wasn't sure how to use it correctly, so he watched some U-Tube videos on the subject. He found them helpful. Personally, I think the toy is overpriced, but my son likes it.
Seems broken July 19, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
My son love Bakugans. They are great with lots of math and strategy. He doesn't know that he is learning stuff. That is great.
As for the launcher. Not so good.
Returned the first one cause I thought it was broken, but the second one I got seems just as broken. Must be a bad design.
You pull back a lever and it seems like it should lock in place. There is even a button to release the lever. But no so. Instead you have to hold in place or something.
As mentioned by others, it takes a while to use. Put the money towards buying Bakugans and not this launcher.
