5 out of 5 stars My kids have played this game more than anything else they got for xmas   January 8, 2009
My kids played this game more than anything else they got for xmas. It actually takes precedent to video games (yay!!) Great toy for the price.

5 out of 5 stars No Sorry's Here - Excellent Family Entertainment!!   January 2, 2009
Bought this game for my 10 yr. old boy for Christmas. We played it that day. Mom, Dad, & son all had a ball with it. Setup is simple. Most of the setup is a 1 time thing - so the next time you play it is even quicker to get ready. All 3 of us loved it! I was more amazed to find out a day or two later that my 4 yr. old and 2 yr. old boys also had a blast with the game - and were quite proficient in sliding the Sorry sliders! They beat Dad every time we played (and I was even trying!!)! This game has been sold out most places for awhile and for good reason! IT IS A BLAST!! There are so many configurations to setup that the game never becomes boring. Each game - no matter how you decide to setup and play - only takes about 15 minutes to play - so you don't lose interest - and either do the kids!! Basically - Sorry Sliders is shuffleboard with a Sorry slant to it - in that the points you get from your Sliders are what you use to get your normal Sorry pawns safely home.

EXCELLENT GAME!! Well worth the money - no matter what you pay to find one!! It is already easier to find online now that Christmas has passed.

4 out of 5 stars 4 star fun game for everyone   January 1, 2009
Bought this game on sale from Amazon and kids love playing it.
Was sooo easy to set up. Comes with 4 cardboard pieces that have two parts you pop out then you take the little plasic side blockers and put those one open up the sliders and pawns. My 7 year olds had no problem setting this up they had it done before i was done reading the different variations for play. We like that there are different ways you can play it and they even make up their own rules which is just as much fun and good for them to learn too.
I think even if you did break the blocker pieces or side ones would be easy enough to jimmy rig something in place. Why some say so hard to put together i am not sure and we just leave ours all put together in the box i would not take them apart too many times or would think the side blockers might break or get lost.

Anyway we like it and is a fun variation from original Sorry.
Only thing i wish after having many board games in those book boxes that this one had a nice storage compartment instead of just throwing all in the box but again kids have come up with solution of bags and padded envelope even for the score cards since they want to keep it in good shape.

3 out of 5 stars A good, fun game---but beware of prices on this site!   December 30, 2008
This game was recommended to me, as my son has special needs, and this game is reportedly very popular with this population. Indeed, it's very engaging, most (see below about the scorers) of the rules are simple. it's colorful, active, but not complicated. He loves sliding the pawns and trying to hit the target, bumping other people's pawns off etc.

A problem with the game itself is the scorers: the scorers don't have numbers, and it's confusing. My son who did not see what the scorers was about. Also, the rules were not clear about how to add the scores from one round to the next, we decided our own...finally, the scorers could also benefit from numbers, as it is it's a bit of artful guesswork, easily remedied with a permanent marker and a steady hand, though)

The worst thing about this toy was the price. I found it, and bought it, at Target for $[...]+ tax. At the same time, Amazon was/had been selling it through third-party vendors at over $[...], plus shipping, or nearly three times more. (although not directly sold by Amazon: they were officially out of stock, but Target had shelves and shelves and shelves of it...).

Is it a fun game? yes, definitely. Is it good value at $[...]? yes, it's great value at $[...]. If I really wanted it, would I pay $[...] for it? hmmm. Maybe -- but certainly not $[...], nor $[...]!...

I checked several other games I knew, and knew their "recommended retail price". Same thing: available on Amazon through third party vendors, at ridiculously high prices...

Conclusion: Best to check your prices every time in the last two months before the holidays, unless you don't mind paying double --or triple-- on Amazon the price you would pay at your retailer a few blocks away. Buyer beware...

1 out of 5 stars Ugh!   December 30, 2008

This game comes in a million pieces that you have to assemble EVERY time you play. My son and his uncle spent the better part of Christmas trying to put it together until they both gave up and moved on to something else. Regular Sorry is great, but there are waaaaay too many pieces for us to use this game on a regular basis. I'm sure parts of it are already lost.
