Amazon.com In the final 13 episodes of Justice League Unlimited, Grodd recruits Lex Luthor, Sinestro, Bizarro, Giganta, and hordes of other villains to form the Legion of Doom, leading to numerous action-packed episodes of villains fighting the superheroes of the expanded JLU. The core members of the original series--Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, Flash, and Green Lantern--are supplemented by such heroes as Green Arrow, Black Canary, Supergirl, Red Tornado, and Mister Terrific. But even waves of super-beings would be a bore if the stories weren't compelling and well-thought-out, and dashed with humor. It's the respect for the viewer's intelligence that elevates JLU beyond a kids' series to arguably the best animated-superhero show ever. During the season, Hawkgirl meets Katar Hol, Hawkman, who claims that he and Hawkgirl are the resurrection of centuries-ago lovers, which throws a wrench into her developing relationship with Green Lantern ("Shadow of the Hawk," "Ancient History"). Flash fights a rogue's gallery of his arch enemies alongside Batman and Orion ("Flash and Substance"), Luthor switches brains with the Flash in "The Great Brain Robbery" (inside joke: Michael Rosenbaum is the voice of Flash, but plays Lex Luthor in the series Smallville) , and Luthor's and Grodd's struggle for dominance of the Legion of Doom comes to a head in the final two-parter, which leads to an unlikely partnership against the ultimate supervillain. The series also dips into other characters and realms of DC comic-book lore, such as the Legion of Super-Heroes ("Far from Home"), Deadman ("Dead Reckoning"), the Seven Soldiers of Victory ("Patriot Act"), Birds of Prey ("Grudge Match"), and Mike Grell's Warlord ("Chaos at the Earth's Core"). In the bonus features, the series creators discuss JLU's ongoing Cadmus story line, there's a music-only track of the series' final episode, and the creators do a 30-minute on-screen commentary talking about three late-season episodes. --David Horiuchi

I got a bad copy! November 20, 2008 I got a bad copy! I love the DVD but it was a two disk set and both disks are the same contents, the labels are differnt but the episodes are the same. I didnt get around to watching untill after the return window so I now have to buy a new copy. When I the new copy I'll write another review.....
A grand tour of the DC universe November 2, 2008 After nearly a decade of quality cartoons, starting with Batman the Animated Series, continuing through Superman, Batman Beyond and Justice League Bruce Timm and his team use this final season to spotlight some obscure corners of the DC Universe. The 31st Century Legion of Superheroes, the lost world of the Warlord, the World War II heroics of the Blackhawks all get a chance to shine.
The series also includes commentary on their first season of JLU which they did not have time to include in the first set.
All in all a class act, a first rate DVD set and a must have for any comic fan.
Great stuff!! November 1, 2008 I got these DVDs as a birthday present. I have always been a comic book fan and when the shows came out on T.V. I watched when I could. I definitely missed quite a few shows on T.V. and was happy to get the DVDs so I could see what I missed! I'm glad I received these. I thought they were great and I think I may have created another fan because my 3 year old loved watching them with me! I would recommend this set to anyone who is a comic book or animation fan.
Great Price for an Excellent Series October 21, 2008 The writing was top-notch, funny, and inventive. Many episodes following the villains attempts to disrupt the league. This was a great finale to an excellent series, drawing on even more obscure characters for their perhaps only animated appearance - like Jonah Hex and Miracle Man, for instance. Too bad, Ambush Bug never made it into any - would have been perfect for it.
Amazing to over and over October 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I was a kid, every Saturday morning I would get up out bed, make myself a cup of Hot Chocolate with toast and sit and watch Saturday moring Cartoons. Cartoons have come a long way since then. At 48 years old I have still kept up my tradition no matter where I am. This DVD of the Justice League is incredible too watch. The characters, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman Green Lantern and the Flash still amazing to watch battle their vilains. I Love them so much so, that I have bought all of the seasons, The Batman series, The Superman series and the Super Friends, so now I can watch them without commercials. What a treat. Buddha
