Surefire Compound Bow hits the mark January 19, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought the Surefire Compound Bow for my 6 yr old son for Christmas and he loves it. As a matter of fact, I am going to order another one because his twin sister is always fighting with him to use it. It'll be nice to have an extra one in case friends come over to play. Maybe I can get my chance to test out my archery skills.
I definitely recommend this to kids that are six and up. It take a little strength to pull back on the bow. So far my little 45 pound daughter set the record for shooting the arrow a good distance of about 25 feet. Her much bigger twin brother needs work on the technique.
I think that this toy is a great introduction for kids into the sport of archery. Overall this toy is a hit in our house. Monkey Business Surefire Compound Bow
Already Needs New String January 18, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Given to my son for Christmas, it's mid-January and the string has already broken. He had fun using a bit in the house (for as long as we let him) but hasn't had a chance to use it outside, due to the weather. Hopefully, I can get a replacement string before spring and he can have a go outside.
The design works well for smaller kids that still don't have the coordinator or strength for "regular" bows. The arrows are large enough for easier handling, and soft enough not to do any damage. I do wish it came with more than three arrows.
Haven't completed given up on this toy - but that depends on whether or not I can replace the string.
Pretty cool January 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Cool toy. My 7 & 9 (almost) year old daughters love this bow. 11 year old niece and 14 year old nephew also love it as does my nephew's dad.
Interesting toy December 31, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It took our Grand Daughter a bit to get the hang of the Bow; once she did she enjoyed playing with it. The reason we got it is because she talks about getting a Compound Bow for deer hunting. Surely not the same, but it's got the same idea's and teaches her not to point it at something she doesn't want to shoot. Works well and made well.
