Poor quality = disappointing Christmas present December 25, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son was very excited to receive this for Christmas, but his excitement was short-lived. When we tried to assemble the toy, we discovered that it was defective and had to be returned.
The problem was that one of the four legs arrived with the knee coupling installed upside-down. Since the cross-sectional diameters of the lower leg and what appears to be an antenna that sticks out of the top of the knee are different, I could not properly assemble the toy (i.e., one leg would be permanently upside-down with its foot pointing up and its antenna pointing down). Also, since the plastic parts are held together with aluminum rivets, I was unwilling to try to fix it myself for fear of permanently damaging the parts.
Finally, it also appears to me that this item was NOT new when it arrived. Before I opened the box, I noticed that the box top had two pieces of tape on it--one piece that held the box closed and a second piece of tape, which was underneath the first piece of tape that had already been cut.
Good buy. Sturdier than other Star Wars toys. September 8, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am really pleased with how sturdy this toy is. We have had a few bad experiences with Star Wars toys that fall apart, so I was dubious when my son bought this with his birthday money. I am pleased to say it is very sturdy with no parts falling off every time he moves it. The toy is large and impressive looking. It would have been nice to get a figure along with it, but my son had the right character in his collection anyway. My husband and son are having lots of fun with this toy!
