My son loves it! December 16, 2008 I got this one and the one's below for my son. He enjoys building things and I believe its very educational and inspires creative thinking.
Worth the price.
K'nex Super Value 325-pc Tub (Black) Knex Value Tub 400 pieces
Knex car set September 29, 2008 This is a cute set and when used in conjunction with other sets can provide hours of fun. Make sure to buy a tub of other parts for your child to use as well.
Inferior to Legos July 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really wanted to like these, because Legos and other building blocks can be so expensive and we wanted a little variety. These are OK, but some of the pieces are very small, are more specialized than most blocks (and so limit how creative you can be), and the finished product isn't as interesting-looking. But the worst part is the overall quality of the product. The pieces are very, very hard to put together (require much more force than an average kid can produce) and many of them, due to the high pressure, just separate on their own after a while. A couple of them just popped off all by themselves. This happens repeatedly. My sons are both fairly adept at working with these kinds of blocks, but both of them just got frustrated with these, as their project just kept falling apart while they were trying to construct it.
There are other alternatives, but this is definitely not close to competing with the quality of Legos and other building blocks.
Nice model set June 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very interesting model set.
Although the pieces are too little, my kids (8 and 6 years old) love it...
I just wish there were more models to be constructed... but this is a game that really teaches the kids!!!
Get more than one kit April 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this set along with another set. I think it wouldn't be as much fun without more sets together. There are a lot of different types of pieces and shapes, but often the kids want more of one type of piece that they used up. I suggest getting ones with the most pieces for the best price. I bought them for my nephews to play with when they stay with me. My 8 year old nephew really loves them. He would spend all of his time building different contraptions if we let him. He loves to show them off and have us take a picture of him with it. My 11 year old nephew just wants to play video games usually. With a little encouragement, he did start to build "Cars" and want to take pictures. The hardest part is getting them to take them apart for next time. They always want to save them (remembering them in pictures help). I also wouldn't get a set because of what the directions will help them build. My nephews have always wanted to think it up themselves. I would get sets that have the most pieces. There is also a problem with small pieces rolling away and the dog getting a hold of them. I would only get this if you have a good place for them to play with a lot of small pieces that roll easily.
