I also bought this for my 5yo daughter and I bought the Lego calendar for my 8yo son. My daughter enjoyed the idea of the calendar and was excited, but it was not worth the money. Yes, you get 3 Pet Shop figures with it, but they were not the best quality. The other items that came were just junk. Little cardboard boxes that look like little gifts with nothing in them, little accessories that aren't easy to fit on the the pet shops. Very disappointing especially when comparing to the Lego one. Please don't waste your money. I think next year we will make our own.

I bought this toy for my 4 year old daughter who loves pet shop. I was disappointed in the novelty factor. Although you get 3 "pets" the accessories are completely cheap. You get a sticker sheet, cardboard box, and other junk. I wished I would have stuck with candy as the value of this item is ridiculous.

We bought this advent calendar to give to our daughter since we had bought her brother a Lego advent calendar. I am extremely disappointed with the LPS calendar. Although I had read the reviews and many of them were less than favorable, I thought I would give it a try. Many of the "gifts" of the day turned out to be more frustrating than enjoyable. A few examples are tiny little hats/goggles/scarf/stickers etc. - very frustrating to get on the pets and stay on the pets. In fairness, I will say that she has also received 3 figures in the advent calendar. Bottom line I would not recommend this nor will I purchase it again.

While the price isn't too bad and the calendar does come with three pets the accesories are very very cheap and or small. For example on one day there is a gift box made out of cardboard and another is a tiny sheet of stickers. We bought this for my daughter and although she seems to like it somewhat, the Lego Advent Calendar we got for my son is worth the extra money.

The Littlest Pet Shop Figures Exclusive 2008 Advent Calendar with 3 Pets (Including Purple Penguin!) is a fun luxury item for the Littlest Pet Shop lover in your life. Three pets are included in the package along with accessories that include holiday decorations, snacks, toys, games and winter accessories. The box can hang on the wall or be set up on a tabletop via a pop-out stand. 5 punch-out pet ornaments are on the back along with a punch out tree, and inside are 24 days worth of surprises.
I've purchased the Lego Advent calendar in years past and we've enjoyed it, but this is a nice change, albeit a slightly expensive one.
