A little bit cumbersome and fragile November 14, 2008 This is a review for my 6-year-old son, who I helped assemble this as his latest Mars Mission set. The set was a challenge to put together, which is a plus, but once finished it didn't like to stay together when flown, and frankly it was his last choice to play with and his first choice in the Lego "chop shop". The other Mars Mission vehicles seemed to be a much stronger hit.
Awesome ship, hours of fun! April 15, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is such a COOL toy! If you're buyig it for someone on the low end of the age scale, it will take them a little while to put it together but once it's done, well, wow! That missile shooter from the astronauts is a blast. We have a ton of fun blowing up the martians and grabbing the energy crystals. But, the aliens also have their missiles from the mother ship and well, it's just plain cool putting them in the cockpit and spinning them around on their swivel chairs. A lot of time and thought went into designing this toy and it's just nothing short of awesome! Highly, highly recommend!
Totally 100% Amazingly COOL!! March 24, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My ten year old son got this for Christmas, and finally assembled it during spring break. He was not very excited by the picture on the box, but I encouraged him to put it together and now it is his favorite ship ever. It's almost organic looking, with parts that move in an insectozoid (sp) fashion. The set also comes with cool green aliens, and a small space station that shoots missiles, and my son has been playing with it nonstop.
I am thoroughly impressed by this ship myself. The green tendril things make it look positively creepy, in a way that my kids just love. We have several Lego spaceships/shuttlecrafts and this is, in my opinion, the best.
Even the most jaded lego spaceship lover is bound to be wowed by this wonderful Mars Mission Alien Mothership.
Great product but the box was damaged February 13, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
The product is great- tons of fun. The package came ripped up- a big whole in the box and the outside postal box was intact... so it was before shipping... I bought it new for a present and didn't have time to deal with a damaged present. It's a great game/toy otherwise.
Great toy! January 2, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
We bought this for our 5 year old (this toy is targeted at a slightly older age group, but at 5 our son did OK with some guidance).
Lego sets are great toys, as they add the fun of assembling the toy (took about 2 hours to build this one taking our time and playing some along the way). The alien assault ship itself is very well build and sturdy once fully put together. I would also rate Lego very high as a toy that actually lasts a very long time (the blocks don't fade or age at all, even after many years). Overall a solid 5 Star product.
