Best LEGO Mars Mission toy in the set! November 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was one of the first LEGO sets I ever bought for my son. At the time, he was five years old and I bought him two sets for Christmas - both Mars Mission sets. I figured if I got him a "good guy" set (LEGO MX-41 Switch Fighter) and a "bad guy" set then he would be able to have a lot of fun playing with the two together. Boy was I right!
I put the two sets together and he absolutely loved them both and has been hooked on LEGOs ever since. Movies, games, toys - whatever the medium, the bad guys always have the coolest-looking designs, and this set is no exception. This model looks wickedly cool when assembled - probably more so than any other LEGO set I've ever purchased, and I have over 100 sets. The ship does a bit of a transformation from a saucer to a "wing-out" attack design that bears loads of laser weapons. Like I said - really, really nice-looking. The astronaut mining unit that comes with the set is just superfluous, but throwing it in with the main model is like a side order of desert.
I highly recommend this set! One of the best sets I've ever purchased, and the best in the entire LEGO Mars Mission line-up!

It was a gift so I haven't seen it opened but any lego is a good lego.
Mars Mission Legos October 9, 2008 Great product...good directions. Lego quality as always! Our boy sat down with the set and put it all together in an evening all on his own. Great set!
Fabulous Mars edition! March 26, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Be SURE to grab this set if you're looking to complete the Mars Mission set. We just got this one for Easter and it's just amazing! It went together VERY easily for a six-year-old and well, the aliens are his favorite in this ship, especially since they glow in the dark! It has provided hours of fun and now he wants the rest of the set. This is one of the neatest things I think Lego has come up with for awhile and it is very well done. Highly, highly recommend!
very cool ship January 3, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I was a little worried that this alien ship wouldn't be quite cool enough for my son's "main toy" at Christmas, but even though it is not as big as some of the other ships, it is bigger than I thought it would be, and definitely a great value. Awesome set for the price. He put it together fairly quickly with his 9-year-old Lego expertise, and has had fun flying it around. The construction project was not too much to keep his attention until completion, but enough to be a fun challenge. His 3-year-old brother has fun stealing aliens whenever he can sneak past the closely guarded base. Overall, I was quite impressed with the sleek ship design, moving parts that don't fall off too easily, and "action value"--it is a fun set to play with. Well worth it.
