Great for future Dino diggers December 27, 2008 My brother got this for my 4 (almost 5) year old for Christmas. It is lots of fun and he has already had tons of fun digging the dinosaur. We have not extracted the skeleton yet, but he keeps digging away. We even have a paint brush (not included) that he is using to brush away the "rocks" just like he would do in the real world. The box says ages 6 and up, but with parent help/supervision it is good for younger budding dino diggers too.
Great gift! November 25, 2008 I gave this to my nephew for his 5th Birthday and he really enjoyed it! His father told me that he said, "This is the most fun I've ever had!" Both Dad and son really got into this and spent an afternoon working on it together while Mom was out with friends. This little boy also loves tools and the hammer and chisel that come with this set are made of metal so they look real and should last a while. The kit also comes with child-sized safety glasses. I am buying this again for another child for Christmas this year. Highly recommended!!!
Great Start for budding dinosaur enthusiasts September 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a fun, durable, educational toy. My 5 yr old daughter really thought she was a true paleontologist as she chiseled and hammered her way through the rock. My only insight to offer is to do this outside! I thought we could do it indoors and I'm still finding bits of rock -- 4 days later! Some of which have scratched my hardwood floors. Duh on my part, but I learned my lesson. We finished the rest outside. It took a good 4 days of chiseling before we hit bones, it really is a lot of bang for the buck. I plan on buying more models as they come available on amazon. I was able to score this with free shipping, so keep your eyes open for offers.

If you have a dinosaur fan in your life, I highly suggest purchasing one of these sets. My father bought the T-Rex and the Velociraptor for my 4 year old's birthday. He had no problem chipping away at the stone and unearthing dinosaur bones! He was completely engrossed in the activity, proudly wore his Paleontologist glasses and has found other ways to play with the high-quality tools from the kit! Great item, great fun.
My nephew loved it! January 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this for my nephew's 8th birthday. He loves dinosaurs and wants to be a paleontologist. My sister said he sat down and played with this from start to finish which took all day. He really loved it.
The box itself is quite heavy- so take shipping costs into consideration when buying.
