Cool gift for grand child November 28, 2008 Teddy knows your name is a great interactive gift for our granddaughter. We know she'll get a kick out of it when she hears the bear say her name.
Love this teddy November 21, 2008 My daughter got this for her first birthday and now she is turning 2 and still loves it. It is so soft and has the cutes voice. There are 2 modes. Day mode talks to your child using their name and sings songs every time the tummy gets pushed. 1 of the songs is just so cute it makes me smile every time I hear it. The night mode says goodnight to your child and then plays lullaby music for 45 minutes. It is easy to activate, all she does is hug him, but not too sensitive that it gets turned on when she knocks him in the middle of the night. I've only changed the batteries 1 time in the last year, but she has lots of toys and goes through phases of playing with it. I had no problems programing it online. I would watch the price as it fluctuates a lot. We got it on Amazon for $7.99, and I've seen it fluctuate from day to day on here. This is a toy most younger children would love, not just babies. My other daughter who was 4 at the time was very jealous that her sister got this toy that played music for her at night and talked to her. I will more then likely get another one for my sons 1st birthday next year.
Baby's teddy bear August 25, 2008 This is a wonderful toy. Turn is on and the baby hears their name and a saying like "good night / sweet dreams" in a very smoothing calm voice. It plays soft music for a long time. This is a must have for every baby.
Great present for a baby December 27, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This made a great Christmas gift for may baby nephew. The bear doesn't say as much as some of the other 'Knows your Name' toys, so it best fits a baby or small child. Can be programmed with child's name without removing it from the box. Bear does not come with the cord necessary to program, however a standard USB cable (like used with most newer printers) is all you need. The first one I got did not work properly and had to be returned. The second worked perfectly. I hope it was just a fluke and not a quality issue. Hard to find in stores!
Very cute.... December 26, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
and my friend's daughter will love it...
A bit of helpful info... It's not one of those "press a button on the back and it records your name" kind of things. You have to connect it to your computer via a USB cable and download a program. I tried to download her name onto it prior to giving it to her and ran into trouble. If you use AOL with any sort of Security features or firewalls you'll have to access the site through a different ISP. When I spoke to the Fisher Price Customer Service rep, (who was great by the way) she figured out that the firewall is the problem and found her name for me. Also, and I can only say this for helpful info... If you have problems finding anything personalized in the store, Mugs, keychains etc or your name is pronounced very differently or anything like that just visit their site and check to drop down list to see if your name/pronunciation is there. They do have alot of names, but just be sure beforehand. And remember what I said about the firewall.
A few extra steps were necessary, but all in all it's worth it. She is going to LOVE this bear.
