RC Tanks January 5, 2009 Gave the tanks to my grandsons for Christmas, had trouble getting both tanks to work at first, and the range on the controllers seems very minimal. The tanks are noisy - so their Mom doesn't like that very much. Also, during battle when a tank is hit the kids get impatient because it's takes "forever" for the tank to recover and be ready to play again. Not recommended - I would not buy these again....
Good Tanks December 30, 2008 These tanks work very good and are easy to move around on the carpet or tile floor. The only draw back which is not much to me is the smoke was barely visible and only last for two days.
How fun is this! December 30, 2008 We just received it today and my boys just couldn't wait to try it out. Several hours later, four of us were playing, including me the dad! It is way fun. The two tanks make it perfect for siblings, and are different camo colors. My boys had no problem choosing which one was theirs! You can even add another set to make it a 4-tank battle or 2 on 2 to double the fun. The "smoke", recoil, and gunner eject add a nice effect and are not gimmicky. The four LED "hit counters" lets you instantly see how much life you have left/how dead you are. The tank is disabled when hit so we had to add a house rule that once you hit the other tank, you have to reposition and move, and can't just camp out. I can only give 4 stars at this time because of the unknown longevity of the toy, which is always the concern with toy electronics. Also, it's a bit loud but the sound effects are realistic and well, real tanks are loud! That's not really a complaint, just an observation. And I was unprepared for the amount of batteries needed- 14 AAs (4 Tank, 3 Controller). I only had a pack of 10 so I just cannibalized four from a singing Christmas tree! That was an added plus for this toy! But a toy that does what this does needs all those batteries. I could write more but I'm going to play with the tanks!
it ok September 13, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
for the price you can't cry to much they are fun but after you take 4 hits your tank is stopped and with ours sometimes it has to be turned off just to get going again. and on one of the tanks the track keeps coming off but we still play with them.and sometimes they just stop moving and you have to turn them on and off a couple of time.
A little slow in the video game age February 18, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this for my 13 year old. I originally was looking at the small remote control helicopters, but the reviews about them breaking on day 1 scared me off. I think these tanks are well built and will last. They just move a little slow. If you are out in the open, you have no chance of outrunning the other guys ability to turn his turret and nail you. So we both end up hiding behind the couch or table waiting for the other guy to move into the open and get killed. Maybe 8 to 10 year olds might enjoy it more.
