k wahlers December 12, 2008 i ordered a kit doll house and it turned out great for my granddaughter, but it came with no instructions. The point being if I was not a carpenter, a normal person might have a problem putting this together because it has over 150 parts of wood and pegs and pieces that only fit one way. The picture on the box(outside of box) was the only saving grace. But the house turned out very sturdy and came with nice furniture for my grandchild. I also will note that I called the distributor and they informed me that no instructions come with the kit, so you are on your own. Thanks, K Wahlers
not the best November 23, 2008 this item looked like it would be sturdy enough for my kids, but when it arrived some of the pieces were broke. had to have my dad make replacement pieces because i sure wasn't going to trust the company to ship me some more broken pieces.
A Stable or a Dollhouse! October 24, 2007 I received the dollhouse today. It was everything I expected from the other reviewer! I like it becuase it was inexpensive and I can customize for our children. I will be lightly sanding and painting the furniture. I have another dollhouse so this one will become a barn (painted red) for another child who loves horses! If I were using it as a dollhouse I would sand and paint etc. I would suggest buying better quality dolls, but we will still use the 2 it came with. With a bit our imagination and our children's this going to turn into 2 great Christmas gifts!

I bought this for my nephew and when I got it I opened it up and realized there were no instructions for assembly. But I didn't freak out too badly, I just started putting things together the way they looked in the picture. However, a lot of pieces were warped, so there are gaps where things don't quite meet up square. Also, most of the construction is done with pegs, which have balls on one end (kind of like a screw with a screw head). In order to make the thing hold together you're supposed to put a second ball (holes pre-drilled) on the other end of the peg. Unfortunately not all of the balls fit. Some had to be reemed out with a screwdriver to snap on. Also, some of the pegs were too long. You may have to cut them down so they're not too loosely holding the constrution together. Use a lot of wood glue. Also the piece on top of the roof line that holds the four roof beams together is made of really flimsy wood and broke when I was trying to put the roof on. I used A LOT of wood glue, some wished and an extra screw to hold it together. Finally the triangular roof cap sits crookedly on the roof line. But I give it 3 stars because it comes with everything. the furniture really isn't that bad. You may want to run a piece of sandpaper over everything so your kiddo doesn't get splinters. And an extra coat of polyurethane wouldn't hurt either. My nephew is going to have so much fun playing slum lord!!
