Amazon.com Product Description Little ones who love playing "mommy" will find a captivating playmate in Baby Alive. With large blue eyes and expressive, animatronic features, Baby Alive introduces the responsibilities of parenting with lifelike functionality, eating specially prepared meals, drinking from her bottle, and actually going potty in her diaper. Baby Alive comes with everything you need to take care of her, including two doll diapers, four packets of doll food, bottle with nipple and cap, bowl, spoon, and bib. Mealtime can be messy, so some attention will need to be paid (usually by a grownup) to make sure Baby is clean, inside and out. Measuring 16 inches from the curls on her head to the tip of her tiny, individually molded toes, Baby Alive laughs, burps, hiccups, and interacts with phrases and songs. While her oversized features might unsettle grownups, Baby Alive captures the imagination of preschoolers from the moment she wrinkles her pretty, pert nose. Extra packs of accessories, diapers, and food (sold separately) further extend the nurturing play of the Baby Alive doll. Requires four AA batteries (included). --Heather Lyndon

HER FACE PAINT WIPED OFF IN THE FIRST HOUR! January 3, 2009 My Daughter wanted this doll for her 7th birthday. She was so happy she took her out of the box ad gave her a bottle right away. There was water drops on her face and she gently wiped it dry and most of her face and eyebrows wiped off. The doll looked scary and my daughter was reduced to tears. I called and emailed Hasbro their reply was that was expected and they would send me something for the inconvenience. It was a $3 coupon I could use if I spent $5 dollars. My Father-in-law was an Engineer for matel, he said it should have not happen. Our Daughter will not play with the doll because she is scary looking. That was a big waist of money. Our doll might have been a defect, but they did not stand behind their toy.I have not bought anything from Hasbro since.
the doll my kid received December 20, 2008 well the service of receiving the doll from amazon was great, I know my daughter will love this doll, at three years old she says she prays to God that this will be her Christmas present, so I hope it lives up to its standards, I have played with the doll before I wrapped it up to put it under the tree, whislt she was at preschool, and to tell the truth I love the little baby doll, because back in my days the dolls were never like that, i just wish the stuff for the doll was a little cheaper, because after buying such an expensive product, you will hope that the little accessories would be lesser to purchase, knowing that it needs these stuff, to keep the doll fun, the makers or resalers should consider, us the parents that have to keep our kids happy, and able to buy the little things they like, for instance i live in Barbados, I bought the doll online from Amazon, had to find someone that lives in the us to post the stuff to. Then pay shipping to Barbados, which was a task and if i wanted more stuff for the doll, i'll have to go through the same ordeal, so those pricey accessories wow, really hurt me, mind you I also have a six year old son, and I cant buy for one and not the other, Barbados if you dont know is in the Caribbean four hours away from New York only, and the US dollar is two of our dollars to one US dollar so if those in the US think the stuff is expensive well I paid double. Please try to think about us when you guys price the stuff, i know its a rare type of doll but still you want it sold right, so lets work together, the cheaper the stuff, the more we parents will buy, other wise, well substitute, by making or buying cheaper stuff from other retailers of other doll makers, so Hasbro, try to solve our problem, because not everyone can afford and if all who can buy then when there's no one else that can afford to buy, then what, but if everyone can afford it then everyone will buy and you'll have a greater demand for the product, and lesser shelft time, and more demands means great sales, more manufacturing and a bigger business, hint hint, just think about it, but in the same breathe I love the toy.
Cute but not cute enough! November 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughters had to have this doll and of course I bought it but I have to tell you it really is a HUGE hassle. It's a big mess and buying all of the food and diaper replacements get's really expensive. My kids wanted to change the diaper every hour and feed her several times a day and once I told them they can't waste it all the doll wasn't as fun for them. They didn't even like sleeping with it because it just keeps talking and waking them up. They literally begged me to just turn it off so they could sleep at night. Now one year later the doll is just thrown in the corner of bed only to be played with once every six months. I just don't think it was worth all of the money.
Great But Messy & Try it Out Quickly November 12, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the hispanic version of this doll & it arrived defective much to my 2.5 yr. old daughters dismay. It would not talk english at all and would not wake up when she went to sleep (wrist star was defective). I returened it and got the caucasion version because she wanted her doll right back and we would have had to wait for the other in the mail. Well the new doll worked perfectly thankfully and she is adorable! I like that she gets better at going potty with each feeding/potty time. I bought it to interest my daughter in the potty. She is messy though and younger children will need help which is hard bc my daughter wanted to do it all by herself. She is pretty easy to clean out (flush a few bottles of water through her over the sink & she's done!) but the food can be staining so beware. Overall she's cute but with quite a few reviews having trouble with her functions if she's a present I would try her out & make sure she works first! It can be so disappointing to get a defective one!
