Yes, it does say Islam is the light. December 23, 2008 I bought 4 of these dolls, 2 in the purple outfit and 2 in the pink outfit. Out of the 4 I have, 2 of them DO say "Islam is the light" and it is very, very clear. Every 3rd phrase... Islam is the light. I bought these dolls for 2 reasons, the first being the price, $6.xx and free shipping. The other reason, I had to "hear" for myself. There is no mistake, the 2 dolls I have do say the phrase VERY clear.
love this toy! December 17, 2008 I love this toy. My daughter thinks it's adorable. There is nothing wrong with what it says. In fact, I think it teaches tolerance. You can tell your child that her toy is Muslim. what is the big deal?
No subliminal message, other than "I want you to raise grandchildren for me when you grow up" December 9, 2008 I believe that you hear the toy saying weird stuff, but this doesn't mean that it is actually saying them. It is just a play of human neural system on your perception. If you don't tell people what they should be hearing, they wouldn't be able to make those words out of the baby-coo playing from the doll.

received as a gift December 9, 2008 My friend's mother got this doll for my three year old daughter for an early Christmas present. My daughter loves this doll. She hugs her and cuddles her and loves to feed her the bottle. I have listened to this over and over, and I can't hear Islam is the light. I listened to it and couldn't hear anything but cooing sounds. I will keep listening to it, but so far haven't heard it. My daughter just got it last night. The doll does creep me out because we are in the living room and the doll is going off right now back in her bedroom and nobody is in there right now. I normally wouldn't purchase a battery operated doll for my daughter anyway, but this is a gift. she does like the doll.
Caution!!! November 4, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
My mom bought these dolls for my daughters, and sure enough, the phrase Islam is the Light is 100% clear and real. So disappointing, as this would otherwise have been a good toy, but there's no way I'd have this thing in my home under the circumstances. Kudos to the stores that pulled them; maybe it's time to stop manufacturing things in China, since it always ends in disaster?
