Perfect Dolly for beloved grand daughters. July 23, 2008 Play Along Club 13 inch Dolls of various names, this particular one is Olivia Reese.
She is can be posed as if she is sitting, standing. bending over and of course, as any little girl would want, she can dance!! She is a small pixie of delight, well made and has an innocent looking little face that has a hint of orneriness.
I had already purchased the other two Play Along Club dolls and wanted this one for my two grand daughter. Both are almost 2. They absolutely love them as do I.
These little pixies will thrill the impish little sprite in all little girls. Simply wish they had been around in the stone-age when I was a child.

You can't go wrong with the Play Along Club! May 2, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
As a doll lover, Olivia Reese caught my eye many months ago, when I first spotted her on the Target shelf; but it wasn't until today that I finally decided to purchase her. I took her out of the box only half an hour ago, and knew that a review was in order.
Olivia Reese is a thirteen-inch plush doll with a velvet feel to her face, hands, feet, and stomach. Her arms and legs are a different material; and she is fully jointed - her elbows, knees, head, and legs all move. I found this to be quite a surprise as a) most dolls available nowadays feel plastic; b) I rarely find dolls with such amazing jointing, where they can be posed in a variety of ways - sitting, standing, arms crossed, legs crossed, etc.; and c) it is a rarity that such a high-quality doll can be found on toy store shelves for a mere $19.99.
Olivia Reese wears slip-on sandals that are adorned with butterflies. Perhaps these shoes will easily slip on and off, but I feel that that is better than a doll who comes accompanied with shoes which are impossible to remove. Her red yarn hair is thick and lush; and the fact that it is yarn makes it wonderful, as young children won't have to deal with the messy knots that often wind up in the hair of dolls such as Barbie or Bratz. It also gives her an old-time, ragdoll vibe that is hard to resist. Blue ribbons hold her hair in pigtails, and match the blue t-shirt, and multi-colored skirt she's dressed in. Little fuchsia underwear complete her adorable outfit.
Big blue puppy dog eyes make this doll impossible to resist. While they are incapable of opening or closing, they do come outlined in true lashes which is a very unique quality in today's world of dolls. The rosy cheeks, button nose, and slight smile only work to complete the look of innocence this doll conveys.
Olivia Reese comes with a large stick of purple sidewalk chalk, a membership card for the new doll owner, and an adorable Meet Olivia Rose booklet. While the membership card is only cardboard, it is a wonderful addition to the set, as the child in question has the ability to become a part of the Play Along Club, along with Olivia Reese, and her two best friends, Zoe Madison and Sophie Kate. And, the sidewalk chalk, as long as it is kept away from the doll, is a fun tool for children to use to create a Hopscotch game of their own. The booklet is an introduction to the world of Olivia Reese, describing her favorite activities, providing information about her friends and the Play Along Club, and even providing a how-to on playing hopscotch.
While I think that it is a possibility for the velvet-like material of the doll to get dirty if not taken care of, everything else about Olivia Reese is wonderful. This doll could not be more gorgeous, and the quality of her is absolutely amazing. It's a thrill to finally see a doll on the market that is so wholesome, and truly conveys the innocence of childhood, with talk of catching butterflies, playing hopscotch, and lounging in a backyard tree house. Bravo to Play Along for releasing such a delightful series of dolls. Now that I have Olivia Reese, I can't help but think that she may soon be joined by Zoe Madison and Sophie Kate, as I may just want to call the whole collection my own. You can't go wrong with the Play Along Club!

Great for Younger Ones, Too. April 3, 2008 I bought this for my 22-month old daughter, and although the box says "3+," it was a great choice. One reviewer noted that the sandals fall off, which they do (but that doesn't bother my little one). I loved these dolls because they are a great combination of "soft" (velvety skin, some stuffing in the arms/legs) and "doll" (long hair, cute clothes and shoes, nice facial features, posable). A lot of the baby dolls out there are either bland (all look the same) or a little scary to me (strange, scrunched up looks on their faces). I didn't want anything that made noise, peed, or pooped, and I wanted something that could be actively played with (change clothes, mess with hair, etc.). We had previously bought (and loved) Baby Stella, made by another company, but wanted the "next step" in terms of our daughter growing up. These are a great value, and we plan to buy either one or both of the others for her 2nd birthday. Like another reviewer, I also love that they are "sweet" and don't look like Barbie or Bratz dolls. These are great for younger kiddos!
CUTE! February 9, 2008 My 22-month-old daughter loves this doll. It's very cute and well-made, especially given the price, and it's a nice size, easy for little arms to carry. I recommend it.
Adorable Dolls that aren't Bratty! December 31, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The PlayAlong Club dolls are very well made and exceptionally poseable. I can't compare them with anything else out there, these dolls are very unique and very cute. Far more "evolved" than Cabbage Patch, that's for sure! Nice outfits, nice hair, nice size. The accessory packs have a very nice storybook in each one that gives a good life lesson, presented in a sweet way. I'm glad they offer extra outfits because little girls always want to change the clothes on their dolls. All in all, this series was well thought out and very well done. I hope we see more of them in the future! The doll aisles haven't had a new and original thought for quite some time. It's refreshing to see the Play Along Club on store shelves... and Amazon.com
