Editorial Review Honk! Honk! It's gridlock and the little red car can't move. The player is a traffic cop in the Rush Hour Traffic Jam Puzzle where the objective is to get the red car off the road. To play, pick one of 40 challenge cards; solutions are printed on the back of each card. Then set up the cars and buses in a specified pattern on the 6-inch-square road grid. Move the vehicles one by one (obey those traffic laws!) until the red car can escape the traffic jam. There are four levels of difficulty. Kids can alternate turns with another player or just "play in traffic" alone. The game from Binary Arts received a national award from Mensa and is used in elementary school math classes. The design includes clear instructions printed on the sturdy box, which can be used both as a playing tray and for storage. The game cards stow away in a drawer in the road grid. This is a 1999 Parents' Choice recommended toy. --Marcie Bovetz

Good practice for Caribbean traffic December 28, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2I4MVLPVHSXHI If you're looking for a challenging yet low-tech family game, look no further.
Believe it or not, this one doesn't plug in anywhere, needs no batteries, has no tangles of wire to connect, makes no noise, and best of all, doesn't have hundreds of expensive add-ons, memory cards and other related stuff that you have to buy.
It takes up almost no space, comes with its own little carrier bag, and provides hours of educational fun for all ages.
You can take this on a plane You can take this on a train You can take this here or there You can take this ANYWHERE
What you get:
1.A small plastic game board with a handy storage drawer and a slot for the game card in play 2.A bunch of colored plastic cars and trucks 3.A deck of game cards with clearly illustrated traffic jam situations for different skill levels 4.A drawstring cloth carrier bag
What you do:
1.Start with the Beginner cards and work your way up to the Advanced level 2.Set up the cars on the board as indicated on the card 3.Try to get the little red car to the only exit by driving forward and reversing the vehicles on the board until the way is clear 4.Try not to tear your hair out or use bad language at the vehicles blocking you 5.Try not to peek at the answers on the back of the card
When you're through with this one, there are four additional game sets at ridiculously affordable prices. Each one gives you one more vehicle and another set of game cards.
Believe me, when you graduate from this traffic school you'll be able to drive in the Caribbean without any problems.

HOT TIP!!! Great game!!! December 18, 2008 This is a GREAT game! Both of my kids LOVE this game! Even more surprising is that my 4 year old daughter REALLY loves it! She knows that each puzzle has a solution - so she works and works at them until she gets that car out! She is so proud when she does it! It's VERY addicting for adults too. I highly recommend - and I buy this for gifts for birthday parties!
Glad I Discovered This December 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I came across this toy by accident and found out it is an award winner made in 2005. It is so much fun. Not only does my grandson enjoy it but I love it as well. I have since ordered the extra 3 card packs which are progressively more difficult. I have also ordered an extra game so my grandson can have his own personal game. It is a single player game so with him having his own we can play against each other, who finishes first. I also ordered Rush Hour Jr. for my grandaughter. This game is challenging for adults and children and I must admit my 9 year old grandson is better at it than I am. I see that it can travel well because it has its own pouch and an edge around it so it cannot easily tip over. I really love playing this game and am not sure who enjoys it more--my grandson or me!
Addicting for ages 6 and up December 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this game as a Christmas present for my 6-yr old daughter last year. My 10 and 12 year kids had already played it at school and were dying to get their hands on it (apparently it is a winner among pre-teens, too). But I said they had to wait for their little sister to play with it first. It took a couple of months for her to show enough interest to open the box. Since then it is one of her favorite toys! She started out playing with me, but now she plays with it several times a month by herself (hurray for any toy that allows a child the independence to play it by him/herself!). The best things I love are (a) there are different challenging levels so adults as well as kids get hooked; (b) all the pieces fit into a draw-string bag so set-up and clean-up occurs in seconds...plus the bags makes it very portable; (c) it has a small footprint so you can play it in your lap if you like; (d) it is a simple concept that is fun and challenging; and (e) each game is as long and short as your determination to win.
Sooo Much Fun!!!! September 22, 2008 I love this toy. It is great for all ages. My six year old daughter and nine year old son love it. My husband and I love to play too.
