The Good: Exciting stunt set sends cars looping and flying.
The Bad: Only comes with one car.
In a Nutshell: Fast-paced action. | At a Glance Ages: 4 and up Requires: Two D batteries. | | | Ready, Set, Go! Before the action can begin, this stunt set needs to be assembled. Well-illustrated instructions and track pieces that are easy to slide together make set-up a quick process. You'll need a small Philips head screwdriver to install the two D cell batteries (not included) that run the power booster. Even with an illustration showing all the launch buttons and the different settings on the power loop, it took us a few minutes of playing with the track to figure out how all the stunts worked. Younger racecar enthusiasts may need to be shown how to control the launchers and the release ramp, but once they get it, they're sure to invent all kinds of exciting games centered around the power loop set. Three Serious Stunts The centerpiece of this set is the power loop stunt. Featuring a pair of vertical loops that cross "dangerously" in the sky, a motorized speed booster, and a release ramp that can be operated automatically or manually, this trick is the perfect place to set multiple cars spinning and wait for awesome crashes. Kids will love popping open the release ramp to send cars shooting across the floor. The mega drop is a section of track that can be clamped onto a table or chair to produce a velocity-inducing descent worthy of any roller coaster. A buffer at the bottom of the drop stops the car and lets you pick when the next stunt begins. To start the second trick, a heavy duty rubber band powers an arm that launches your Hot Wheels car into the 360-degree loop. Again, a buffer stops the car after it has completed this trick. We liked that an extra band was included, so the fun won't have to stop if the first one breaks or gets lost. A World of Trick Tracks At first, we were disappointed that the stunts were separated instead of having a continuous track, but then we realized that each time a car gets "stuck" under a buffer, it activates the launch button for the next stunt in the line. With three or more cars, this becomes a really fun feature that makes it easy for several children to use the set at once. Friends will need to have their own Hot Wheels cars for serious track sessions, since the set only comes with one durable little car. Be careful purchasing extra cars, because not all Hot Wheels are designed for track use. If three super stunts aren't enough, there are several Trick Track Sets from Hot Wheels that can be purchased separately and combined into a gigantic world for stunt cars to explore. Kids will love thinking up new ways to combine their favorite sections of track and rooting for their favorite cars to make it through without crashing. What's in the Box 21 piece stunt set and one vehicle.

Very dissapointing...cars never loop but fall off of track December 28, 2008 This set was a very dissapointing purchase. What is the point of having a looping motorized track if the cars always fall off? We used the car that was provided with the set and new batteries and the car maybe had one successful loop. It never made it far enough to the final "launch". This xmas present for my son has barely been played with because it is not satisfying. I will definately be returning this toy to the store I purchased it from.
Disappointing purchase December 28, 2008 Santa brought this for my four year old son this Christmas. My son has two other Hot-wheels car sets so he is used to playing with them. This one however has a duo of deficiencies that kill the whole deal.
The set is unnecessarily complicated and its somewhat delicate. As for the complicated part it will require an adult to assemble. As you assemble it you get the sense that it isn't going to be very durable. Once assembled it's a sort of flashy Rube Goldberg contraption that requires three different cars to complete the effect (only one is included in the box) as depicted on the box.
As for the delicate part, after trying literally half a dozen cars on the "Power Loop" portion of the track we had only one completely successful launch from end to end. The cars would fall out of the loop after just two or three revolutions.
My son has mostly lost interest in the toy after just three days because it's so frustrating to use.
My review would be a lot more forgiving if the track worked with a greater variety of cars. Out of all of the cars my son has we could only find three or four that would work even remotely well with this set. And then even with those cars it would complete the entire process about two out of ten times.
I do think older children would find this more enjoyable however, as another reviewer mentioned you'd probably want to buy an add on piece to make it more worth while. But overall I wouldn't even start the process with this series of tracks.
Also, considering the entire set is made of plastic I didn't notice any of the pieces marked for recycling. So when this set does meet its demise its not easy to recycle the parts.
Fun, but motor drains batteries fast. December 27, 2008 My son got this for Christmas, two days ago, and after a few hours of play, the motor doesn't always get the car around the power loop the three times it would on auto mode. Changed batteries, works better again, but then next day juice in batteries seems less than before. And since these are D batteries, this would obviously get expensive. So I also would probably recommend a set that does not involve a motor.
More Hot Wheels Junk December 27, 2008 This products motor failed after 2 trips around the loops. Hot Wheels needs to focus on product quality. Very disappointed once again with Hot Wheels. It's the second poor quality product we purchased this year. I have two sets now to take back to the store.
Awesome! December 21, 2008 My 5 yr old absolutely loves this. He plays with it all the time. He said, "Mom this is the best track I've ever had in my whole entire life!!!" We can't wait to get some of the extension parts. I only gave it 4 because assembly is not easy. The directions stinks. We had to watch some videos on YouTube to get the jist of how it really should go. Once you FINALLY get it together right, it's a really fun toy. I'm really glad we got it.
