a fashion entrepreneur in the making! November 26, 2008 My daughter had been talking about how she wanted this game for sometime. She rec'd it Xmas '07 & still plays with it. I have found myself designing outfits & doing the shows too. The educational value is good - the designers have to learn how to manage their money in order to pay for outfits, shows, new models & other "upgrades". She asked lots of questions as she was playing it on how to make good fashion & money decisions. Here is my 9 yr old's thoughts: It is fun to play with because you are able to design clothes like real designers. I like to see how well the judges like my outfits! I enjoy having my own store and having best sellers!
An educatioal toy November 20, 2008 I bought the toy for my granddaughter for Christmas for this year. She's into designing and I thought this might help her to get started. But I won't know if she likes it until after Christmas.
You get about as much out of it as you pay for it. November 19, 2008 I will let you know up front that my then 11 yr old daughter is not real big on video games. She had a lot of fun with this for a while but then lost interest and hasn't played with it in months. If your child really likes fashion and being creative they will like this. I bought this really cheap so it was worth the money I spent.
Not Worth the Money. Buy It Used! July 23, 2008 My daughter, who was 9 at the time, really wanted this last Christmas. Back then it was priced very high, around forty bucks. I hated to pay that. Not many toys are worth it, if you think about it. Eventually, it went on sale, so I did get it for her.
Emily played this once or twice not long after receiving it. Since then, it had just been setting there in the box. When she cleaned her room about a month ago, she gave it to me to sell. I asked her if she was sure & she agreed.
She said it was an okay toy, but she didn't care if she never played it again.
I think that says it all.
I sold it for about five dollars, which is about what I'd recommmend you pay.
Ok for Older Girls February 21, 2008 This really is a great idea! However, the child needs to understand the whole concept of designing and showing clothes first... Then designing is the fun part. My daughter is 8 and would love to just design. She could care less about the whole fashion show stuff. Maybe she'll get into it when she's alittle older.
