Product Description The Lesters were hosting another one of their fabulous dinner parties. The invitation list was smaller than usual. The Lesters, and a few of their special family and friends were just about to sit down to enjoy the elaborate dinner Victoria Lester had prepared. The table was breathtaking. As usual Victoria had outdone herself. The diners toasted with a vintage bottle of red wine and sat down to eat. As the food was being passed around the table, Victoria started to choke and cough. Everyone rushed to her side in time to see her fall face first into her food. She was dead...she had been poisoned. Welcome to an evening of murder! This is a 'Party Adventure' designed to create a night of intrigue and excitement for you and your friends. Within the comfort of your living room, you set the stage for solving a murder. You and your guests become the suspects. Each have hidden backgrounds and secret clues. Cast your inhibitions aside, apply your imagination, and determine who the murderer is, how it was done, and why. Game comes with a complete party planner with instructions, costume suggestions, tips, and an optional dinner menu, invitations and name tags for your guests, character profiles with secret clues and backgrounds for each guest, a CD which re-enacts the sounds of the murder and outlines the plot, and the author's solution to the mystery. For 8 guests.

this was my first murder party and the guest enjoyed it. I invited extra guest just to make the night even more excited. My guest kept talking about it even after 2 months. A must have!

This was the third murder mystery game me and friends have played. Two by Max Haines. I loved the Max Haines games. They keep you involved in the game and not to much reading to yourself that other game had. With the interaction going on it made it really fun. We had a blast and will be purchasing more Max Haines games.
An Evening of Fun June 23, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I recently used this game, and it was a huge success. I really liked all the characters. They were all unique enough that you could really create and character that would be fun and interesting, but they were also realistic enough to be believable, unlike the characters in some of the other mystery party games. The fact that the characters were more realistic also made it easier for everyone to be comfortable in their parts.
The game went well, although it was just barely two hours long, and that was with taking short breaks between scenes and with people embellishing a bit on their information. But the story is well written and all the parts are interesting. Everyone there agreed that 8 people was a perfect number, and we liked that the murderer DOES know that they're the murderer.
All in all a great time, that's pretty simple for a first-timer. If you're hosting this party, my one suggestion is to make sure you have wine charms on the wine glasses- it's not specifically mentioned in the instructions and it becomes kinda important to the plot. Also, we took a break inbetween scenes during which everyone read their information for the next scene. That way they weren't just reading the info and they could feel more comfortable in their characters.
I'm definitely planning on buying the other game by this company.
