 Did not hold attention like I thought September 27, 2008

I have a 6 year old who loves to learn, who is a great reader, and who can sit still for hours, but I have to say this didn't hold his attention like I hoped. He had even asked for a globe, and we have so many great leapfrog products I figured this would be a hit. My take is that if it had some kind of screen like a video game attached to it, he would have loved it, but that is hindsight. Still, I think it is pretty awesome, and hope that over time so will my son.

You can get this directly from the leapfrog.com site much more inexpensively and reliably than on here. I waited three weeks on amazon for this item before cancelling my order from amazon. I went to the leapfrog site, and a week later I had the item for a mere 99.99.

Pretty cool globe and contains multiple functions. My 1.5 year old daughter loves to play it with the music from all the countries.

I love this Leapfrog explorer Globe. The price has really come down over the years, so I finally caved in and bought one. My friends and I (all around 25 years old) have actually had competitions that really help us to learn a great deal about the earths geography. It's a little embarrassing how little we know about the locations of countries, but this globe makes the learning fun and VERY quick!

I bought this globe for my 7-year-old daughter, because she did not know the difference between Chicago and Chile. Only a few weeks after we started playing with games on this globe, she remembers most of major country names and locations. She also enjoys listening musics for each country. It is an excellent toy!
