Product Description A train, a stacking toy, and a learning system, this toy comes with five cars and an engine that displays different numbers of objects, which match to the number on the car, further reinforcing the number/object correlation. However, the magic really begins when toddlers can attach each of the cars in any order and get a different response. With three modes of play, toddlers are introduced to numbers, colors, animal names, animal sounds, music and other fun sounds. For example, in counting mode, attach the number two car and hear, "Two bells! Ding! Ding! Tickets please!" In colors mode, attach the number three car and hear, "Yellow car! Ready to go! Toot! Toot!" In music mode, attach any of the cars to add a different verse to the train song. Toddlers can press down on conductor Leap to hear three different songs based on the learning mode they have selected. Then for quiet play, toddlers can stack each of the cars from largest to smallest to help build their hand-eye coordination. Requires 3 "AA" batteries (included). Measures 30" x 8" x 15.5".
Editorial Review Connect the cars and leap aboard this lively and engaging learning train. Friendly Leap the frog waves from the engine of this cute and colorful train, which provides an introduction to numbers, colors, animals, and music. The set includes five brightly colored cars in graduated sizes, each bearing a number: connect the cars to the engine to hear songs and fun train sounds. Slide the switches on the engine to control volume and choose one of three modes of play: counting, colors, and music. As little ones alter the order of the train cars, Leap helps them explore sequencing, colors, and sizes. Sturdy magnetic links hold the train together as it rolls over hill and dale. For more hands-on learning fun, head someplace trains rarely go--by stacking the cars skyward. Winner of an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Award, the Learning Connections Train introduces important early learning skills, from math to memory to motor skills and music. As a nod to its versatility, this link-and-stack toy can be run silently and still offer toddlers rewarding learning experiences. While three AA batteries (included) power the sounds of this little train, it's up to kids to make it move. With no track required, the wheeled set rolls smoothly across any hard surface a little conductor would like to explore. --Heather Lyndon

My son loves it! May 4, 2007 I bought this toy for my son when he was about 9-10 months old. He loves to hear the songs, and plays with it most of the time. One day, playing with him, I heard him said very quietly "two" after he heard from the singing song: "one... two.... three...four...". It is just amazing. His mom won't believe me, but he did say "two".
It's a fun toy and very pleasant song to hear.
fast service January 16, 2007 looks good. colors are bright and cheery for a toddler. thanks for the prompt service.
Good buy January 10, 2007 Great toy... Teaches colors, numbers, and stacking. Volume control a plus. Cute songs.
Fun January 9, 2007 My son LOVES trains, so he likes this toy fine. He's two and he doesn't understand connecting the train it asks for, but the toy just sings a song about whatever train is connected. He also dropped the engine in the tub and it didn't work for a few days. Once it dried out though it worked fine.
Great train, but VERY loud. December 30, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This train is really cool. My two and a half year old son loves it even though we bought it for the 8 month old. The songs are great and the interactivity with attaching cars is cool. The only problem is that it is too loud. The low setting is as loud as it should ever go, and the loud setting must be for playing with it inside a loud factory. Inside a house the loud setting is deafening. It would get 5 stars if I didn't wish I were wearing earplugs...
