Fun toy but very fragile August 4, 2008 The toy matches its description offered online. My children love to play with it as it changes eye expressions by tapping the head and really does resemble the "Eve" from the movie. However, the removable parts (arms) can be pulled off with little to moderate force, the doors to place the shoe-plant accessory pull off as well with little to moderate force, and if the head is pressed too strongly, the eye expressions may be stuck to one type until you press it at different angles. I wouldn't recommend giving this toy to small children (under age 4) due to the potential loose parts. Otherwise, it is fun to look at and resembles the movie character quite nicely.
Her eyes didn't work for me either July 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wonderful design, I just wish they would have made it more stable. The eyes on mine broke after one click. I was very disappointed as this was the cutest aspect of the figure.
Disappointed July 19, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We received this toy today and are disappointed. Like a previous reviewer, the doors on Eve come open very easily and don't stay shut. Also, Eve's eyes get stuck in one position and it's very difficult to get them unstuck and to change again. My daughter LOVES EVE so we won't send this back, but we will be writing the toy company an email. Save your money and wait for other WALL E toys to come out!
Less would have been more July 12, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Couldn't wait to get Eve and Wall-E toys after seeing the movie - boy, are we disappointed! This toy features 6 different eye expressions that change when her head is pressed. We got through one round of eye changes when it stopped working. Now she's stuck on the same expression no matter how much we press her head (and we were not rough at all!). Also, Eve comes with a little stand - a plastic arm is supposed to pop into a hole in the back of Eve. It simply doesn't work, no matter how we try to get her to fasten in.
A different reviewer mentions that the door to her compartment didn't work for him. It did work for us. Still, it seems like there are a lot of different features, any of which may or may not work. If I could go back in time, I'd buy a simpler (and cheaper) Eve, with fewer cracked bells and broken whistles.
Great toy, with one problematic area June 30, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It may have been just our, but on the one we purchased the left door on Eve's vegetation compartment wouldn't stay closed. Since it was the last one, I opted to try to fix it and managed to do so. A little bit more plastic reinforcing the door's arm would have prevented the issue. Even so, a small wedge of plastic and some super glue addressed the issue so that you'd never know there was a problem. Again, it may be a fluke issue, but the fact that the item is packaged with the left door opened makes me think that it may be likely to affect others.
