Product Description Our Hermit Crab puppet has found a delicate, lacy home just the right size. Three fingers animate the head and claws of this shy new friend, who's sure to bring you out of your shell. Finger Puppet 8" Long
Editorial Review Life's a beach--that's for shore to this little hermit crab. The shy, rusty red crab is tucked safely inside a beautiful shell that's made from foam rubber covered with white and brown lace. The shell's mouth is lined with a pink material that stretches, and in the back is an opening for three fingers so a puppeteer can manipulate the hermit crab's pinchers and head. The face has two gold eyes on the end of twin stalks, and two black string antennae complete this crustacean's countenance. Children and adults alike will enjoy exploring the oceans of possibilities for fun with this charming shellfish. Approximately 4 inches wide by 8 inches long. Surface washable with cold water. --Peggy Etra

| Customer Reviews:
The Channel Whelk October 31, 2007 The cute little hermit crab has made his home in a shell....but what kind of a shell is she (he) living in? On Cape Cod, we call this shell a Whelk. Actually, a Channel Whelk - and it is the official shell of the State of Massachusetts. Cape Cod is a Peninsula tacked on to the Eastern part of Mass. The Cape is actually an island now, because somewhere back about a hundred years ago they carved a huge channel splitting the Cape from the mainland. Two stalwart old bridges get you back and forth..but most Cape Codders hate to go OFFCAPE. anyway, we get the whelks' shells when the empties wash up. These finger puppets capture the fun of finding a shell, without the sand and the sea....and you can play with them in the winter.
