 Ugh, misspelling in final product!!! December 9, 2007

I bought this for my 10-year-old niece, and it allowed us a great bonding experience. I was amazed to see how much time she put into developing her story and creating the illustrations. It took us a few months to begin and then complete the project, as it requires a reasonable amount of adult assistance. However, when we received our bound book, I was SO disappointed to see a spelling error, just like I'd seen reported in some Amazon reviews. If only they could "publish" properly, I would give this 5 stars. It'll take a long time to send it back for the correction, so we'll just deal with it. Where it should say "love," it says "lover"!!!

The instructions are easy to follow and the quality of finished book is exceptional!
We love writing our stories, drawing the pictures and then having it all published in a real book with our words typed on the page. Then we show the books to all our visitors. It is a real fun. We do a new book every year and our library is growing... I think this is one of the greatest gifts I ever getting. My recommendation for older children (over 10) is Why Some Cats are Rascals ( Book 3). It is a great story very inspiring and full of information from history, geography, etx.

I just purchased my 2nd illustory gift. These are great, b/c kids love to make their own REAL books. They can always save it as a memory. It is just the best gift idea ever. I'm sure I will buy another one next year too!!!

This is a great idea. The book comes with an About-the-Author page just like real published books! Everything that you need to write and draw is provided in the kit and the instructions are very easy to follow. In just a few weeks you get back a real hardcover book! Terrific! It is a The books are a great family keepsake. Check also the series Why Some Cats are Rascals, Book 1
