5 out of 5 stars 1st wave or 2nd wave   July 26, 2008
3 out of 5 found this review helpful

Well the reason some sellers are jacking up the price is because there is a 1st wave version and a 2nd wave version. Now both models look almost identical but have subtle differences. The 1st wave was recalled and is no longer being sold, (thus sellers have raised their prices). This is because the jokers face was frightening children and the company decided to make a 2nd version that wouldn't be as scary to kids. Now the reason why people have jacked up the price is because the first wave is much more authentic to heath ledgers joker from the movie and the second wave has the joker making a goofy expression instead of a scary one. Also another way to tell the difference between a 1st wave and 2nd wave model is if there are air holes on the sides of the package you have the 2nd wave model. The second wave model is out in stores but is hard to find and you should not purchase it for more than $20.00

5 out of 5 stars This is pretty funny...   July 21, 2008

I bought my first Joker toy at a local Walmart. Could you guess how much I paid for it? 11 bucks. Then a week later of having no luck I went to my local BigK-mart... can you guess what I found there? The Joker, Batman, and the Thug (the Thug goes for 74 bucks???) I paid 32 bucks altogether.

So please please please don't get ripped of by these jokers.

Just wait and keep searching, trust me... you'll find one. Oh, if you have a run down Kmart by you that no one really goes to, then DEFINITELY go to that one.

3 out of 5 stars not worth much   July 17, 2008

I was recently at a book store and was looking thru some magazines and came across a recent addition of a toy magazine. They had current prices of how much action figures are worth and I wanted to see how much this toy was worth. Well, sorry fans but its only worth a measly 14.95. Granted, I bought mine at Wal Mart and bought it because I love the Joker-not for a profit like the greedy sellers who sell this item for 100 and more, and espeically to the sellers who sold it for more then 250. So check your local wal mart, they might have the toy there. Its not worth much now but maybe it'll be worth it in a few years.

4 out of 5 stars PATIENCE PLEASE!   July 15, 2008

I too recently came across 3 of these at a local Wal-Mart about a week ago. I new that my patience would pay off. And that's the only advice that I can give to each and every one of you. Just be patient and you will find one ( if you haven't already ). I agree 110% with the other majority of reviewers on this topic. Scalpers are a serious issue. Especially to all of us out there who just want to collect for pure fun. DO NOT give youre hard earned money to these manipulators. I would have given this joker figure 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that scalpers or trying to destroy the hobby. This figure is well worth the wait, if you can wait that is.

5 out of 5 stars Don't bunch up your undies, folks.   July 11, 2008

Okay, so I was checking this item out a little over a week ago and he was selling for upwards of three hundred dollars. Ridiculous right? Right. So I sat on my hands. Today I went to Wal-Mart on a lark and what do you know? There he was. For $11.47. Seriously, people...there must be thousands upon thousands of these things in warehouses across the country. Do yourself a favor and just check your local retail outlets on a regular basis. I'm sure you'll find him if you're persistent. FYI: I also saw a Movie Masters Scarecrow. I didn't buy him since I'm a bit tapped for cash at the second, but he looked pretty sweet. Hopefully there will be a Two-Face at some point.

As for the toy. Leaps and bounds above the kid-friendly version, with a good deal of detail and similarity to the actual look of the film. Very cool looking. Gotta love that Glassgow smile.

Keep looking!
