Stopped Working After Just a Few Uses June 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am SO disappointed and angry that I spent so much on a toy that stopped working almost immediately. I've changed the batteries, I've made sure her head is turned, I've put her arms and legs in position, I've submerged her---she just won't work. My daughter is oddly not heartbroken, because she just likes to have a baby doll in the bath, but I am not happy that I spent nearly $40 for something that broke immediately.
I saw another review like this and wondered if I should take a pass on the toy. Instead I took a chance. My mistake!
My girls LOVE it! June 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We got each of my daughters (3 & 5) this doll for their birthday, and they LOVE it. They play with it in the pool and the bathtub. Has worked with no problems every time!
This should be for older children May 24, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
We got it for our 3 year old daughter and gave it to her on the day of her little sisters birth as a gift from her new sister. My husband took the doll and 3 yr old home that night from the hospital and went straight to the tub. She was terrified of it to the point my husband had to take the batteries out to make it stop moving. Since then- I've tried everything to get it to work again. I've put in new batteries, I've submerged it, nothing- it stopped working. Not sure if once the seal was broken for changing the batteries that it stopped or the fact that my daughter thought the doll could do aerobics and splits that it will no longer work. The legs make a clicking noise when moved which she thought was great- but now because of that- we have an expensive doll that doesn't swim. Maybe this should be for older children.
Little Swimmer May 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this for my niece for her birthday. I was hesitant because it is a little pricey and not really sure if she would work like they show on TV. The doll is smaller than she appears on TV but she does really swim and she was a hit with my niece. Would recommend to a friend.
Not worth the money, but kinda fun April 15, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I recently gave this as a gift to my four year old, and she enjoys it somewhat, but so far we've only been able to use it in the tub. It might be fun to try in the pool, because it just propels itself around, nonstop. The lack of an off switch is a big problem, because sometimes the kids just want the baby to stay still so she can be bathed.
CAUTION: my daughter just discovered a semi-hazardous aspect to this toy. Somehow she reclined on top of it in the bath as it was swimming, and the doll's arm continued to move back and forth (up and down?) in a swimming motion. In doing so, it rapidly tangled in my daughter's hair and wrapped up its entire length till it was all the way up to my daughters scalp. It didn't stop and just kept yanking and yanking, producing SCREAMING. Once I got the doll out of the water and it stopped moving, it wasn't impossible to untangle. I got the hair unsnarled with loads of conditioner, but it was no fun. If your daughter has really long hair like mine does, watch out.
