Hot Wheels Car Carrier is so-so September 18, 2008 I bought 2 of these so my son wouldn't leave cars all around the house where I could (and usually did) find them at 2 AM by stepping on them. One case was fine, but the other had a bent lid that didn't latch. I did some low-tech bending of the plastic lip so that the latch would catch the wedge on the side of the case, which seems to help, but I wouldn't rely on it not coming open while going upstairs. The easy solution was to teach my boy to carry the case horizontally. Still, they work and hold most cars in a neat and orderly fashion.
Best Economy Car Case We've Found! August 20, 2008 Our three-year-old has acquired MANY cars, and we have hunted high and low for cases to accommodate them. The best case is still the old vinyl one that my husband had as a kid, but this plastic one has been a great addition. We have two of these, and they hold all shapes and sizes (the only exception we found is one of the flatbed towtrucks). I doubt these will last as long as the vinyl case has, but for the money, they have been great! Another reviewer talked about using the flat door as a ramp--also very popular with our little guy.
car case August 13, 2008 may grandson loves cars so this case will be great so he can store them.also its a good teaching lesson to pick up his cars when he is finished
stay away from the fancy cases - this is all you need July 3, 2008 We used matchbox cars as "rewards" while potty training my son; and as a result we must have over 100 cars. We started with this case to hold all the cars and when it filled up we went in search of another. for our second case, we decided to get fancy. We tried a case that was shaped like a wheel and opened on both sides. It was a nightmare. The lids never stayed shut and inevitably, one side or the other would pop open and all the cars would fall out. So we scrapped that, and bought a case that also had a car launcher at the top of it. It was also a piece of junk. The launcher worked poorly and only shot the car out a couple of inches, and the cover also kept popping open. So, we're back to this case again.
The case holds a minimum of 48 cars, but some of the smaller cars fit 2 in a slot. the case is durable, and the cover fits tightly (but is still easy enough for my 3 year old to open by himself). This case is really all you need.
Car Case January 28, 2008 Good value for the price. Well-priced in comparison to those in stores. Not as nice as those from 25 years ago, but durable for what's available in today's market.
