Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Baby's steps set the learning in motion. Push the walker and watch the red drum spin and the colorful organ pipes move up and down in time to a marching band ABC song. Switch to the music mode and hear a fun walk-along song that encourages Baby's first steps.

This walker can also be converted into a sit-at learning center for a 2-in-1 learning experience. With two ways to play, Baby will have tons to learn and explore. In learn mode, spin the drum for an ABC song (when the drum stops, the song stops), turn the trumpet roller for an introduction to shapes and colors, or push the organ for a counting 1-5 song. In music mode, each activity offers real instrumental tunes and upbeat melodies with every spin, press and turn.

The Learning Band Walker is full of moving instruments and real instrument sounds that reward those first steps and make Baby the leader of the band. Features a sturdy, wide base and volume control. Requires 3 "AA" alkaline batteries, not included.

4 out of 5 stars Great to have but has a couple of flaws.   August 25, 2007

My niece just recently turned one and although she likes to walk with the assistance of another person, she just won't walk by herself. So of course for her birthday she received three walkers. This particular walker was the first one we tried.

First, let's briefly talk about setup and durability. Setup is a complete breeze. All you have to do is snap the legs in and you're done. As far as durability, I tried to put some weight on the walker to see if it would collapse and it didn't. The last thing we need is to have the walker topple over while my niece is using it thus making her terrified to walk on her own. I'm confident that this will last quite a while.

Now let's talk about the toys/entertainment included with the walker. On the left side of the walker is a spinning "thing" that shows three different shapes and a little song is sung about each shape and its color. The right side has 5 numbers that you can press and a song is sung about the numbers. The middle section is the most entertaining part of the walker. When the wheels spin on the walker, the wheel in the center spins and it sings the alphabet. Also, there are 5 colored "blocks" that move up and down as the wheels spin.

And now let's talk about the purpose of the walker. Baby holds onto the red bar at the top and walks with it. The center wheel only plays a small part of the alphabet song but as you move the wheels, more of the song plays, thus encouraging baby to walk.

As stated in the title of this review, there are a couple of things I don't like about this walker, hence the 4 star rating. First, the toys/entertainment part of the walker are so far down on the walker that when my niece is walking, she can't reach them which makes her frustrated. Second, we tried using the walker on carpet but the wheels still moved way too fast. We have to stand in front of the walker while she's walking just in case.

If you're looking for a good walker, I'd recommend the LeapFrog Learning Band Walker but keep in mind the two negatives I mentioned above.

1 out of 5 stars Worst Toy Ever!   July 16, 2007

I got this toy for my son for his birthday and it broke five minutes after we took it out of the box. The thing that is suppose to turn around in the middle doesnt work and the piano keys dont work either! Worst toy ever and I hope no one else will ever buy it! Even if it did work it doesnt seem like it would have been much fun.

3 out of 5 stars overall not too bad once it was actually used   July 11, 2007
My son received this as a gift, and unfortunately never really got any use out of it to speak of. He messed around with it a bit, but it never was very useful as far as assisting as he began to walk. He of course now at 2-1/2 loves to walk all over the house with it and sing along! My daughter though did use it some, but it, like I'm sure others, was not very easy to manuver at corners and bends. I had to just continually walk right behind her and turn it when needed. Then there was the matter of the kitchen floor. That was just an accident waiting to happen. She'd be walking with it on the carpet then hit the kitchen floor and it would take off. But again, I'm sure this would be the case with others also. My only real complaints with this one in particular is the center "donut" part has not rotated for quite some time which in turn makes the music not play right. We've just taken it out and then it works fine. Other than that, on occasion it will start making horrific screaching noices and it only stops if it is shut off. Overall, my daughter did make use of it...it is stable and a good design to walk behind...just beware of smooth floors.

3 out of 5 stars Not bad for my 1 yr old.   May 10, 2007
My 1 yr old enjoyed it right away and was happy with it, being able to pull herself up and take a few steps. Only thing she didn't like was not being able to turn the toy to where she wanted to go.

About 6 months later, she doesn't play or use it anymore as she is now, on the move.
