Product Description This little bilingual wonder makes learning a breeze with music and counting to encourage interest. Squeeze him one time to hear him count from one to ten, then squeeze him again to hear a joyful song about colors. He'll even sing about the objects on his shirt. Cute, cuddly and full of fun learning songs, this adorable 12" tall plush turns on when the right foot is squeezed, and switches from English to Spanish simply with the squeeze of his left foot. It requires 3 "AA" batteries, which are included.
Editorial Review "Hi, I'm Tad." "Hola, soy Tad." Meet Tad, a bilingual frog that helps kids learn counting and colors in English and Spanish. (Press his left foot to switch from English to Spanish.) This cuddly 14-inch plush amphibian is dressed in orange overalls with numbers on the belly, which, when squeezed, make Tad sing catchy little songs. Tad carries a fabric booklet with numbered objects from 1 to 10 corresponding to his songs: "How many buttons, tell me, do you see? One, two." Exposing children to a foreign language early on helps them distinguish the sounds of their own language from another, and leads to a greater ability to learn foreign languages later in life. What a friend. --Emilie Coulter

Good toy, not suitable for advertised age group. August 18, 2008 We bought this item because it was advertised as a great gift for a 1yr old. (in fact we got Tad and Lily, so each of the twins would have one) We found that the noise that the toy makes is great, and they really like the noise, however, if the noise stops they get frustrated since they don't know how to turn it on. Their older sister however, who is four years old loves it! She also loves the fact that it teaches her spanish if she listens to both versions. We recommend this toy highly for those with children 2+ Kids any younger than that will simply get frustrated and lose interest.
my son loves Tad! June 3, 2008 this is a great toy, and very good value. my son loves to chew on it and although it started to annoy me he loves the songs in both spanish and english. It was alot better when i found the volume control on the battery packet inside tad.
Nice simple educational toy April 13, 2008 This is a cute toy. I bought it for my son when he was around 9 months old. He loved it for about a month. It's cute and colorful, and it sings. But it only sings the alphabet. After awhile, it gets old for kids and parents alike. For the money though, it's a pretty good deal on an educational toy.
Great for a disabled child December 28, 2007 Our grandson has Down Syndrome and this toy was mentioned on a website as good for his condition. He has not put it down since opening it on Christmas day!
For an older audience November 24, 2006 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My son received this for his first birthday, but wasn't actually very interested in it until he was almost two. He would get frustrated trying to get Tad to talk (he also has the hug and learn Tad, which is much easier) and he didn't understand why the counting would "stop" because he couldn't grasp that he was supposed to be looking in the book at the items named.
He really likes this toy now, at age two. I would save this toy for an older toddler.
