kind of flimsy but really fun January 6, 2009 Our three year old got this for Christmas and has been playing with it everyday. He loves the racing action and trying out all different cars on it. He also loves the fact that the number "flags" at the bottom of the track tell him which car won each race. The one downside to this toy is that it is somewhat flimsy. It falls down really easily when it is set up because there is only one bracket in the higher portion and it moves quite easily. The track sets back up quickly so this would not be a deterrent to my buying this toy again since my son seems to love it so much. The track folds up easily and compactly for storing. Overall, a fun toy that I am happy we purchased for him.
Let's go 2.5 stars January 3, 2009 It's a fun toy for my 4-year-old and probably would be for kids a few years older too, but where it scores points for fun, it gets dings for construction quality. It's easily knocked over, and when it falls, several links of track usually fall apart. The plastic is rigid and the parts fit together (more accurately, stay together) poorly. (which also could describe the Pontiac G6 rental car I drove around last week, but that's another review). The other complaints you've read about this toy's durability aren't isolated.
The kids like it. January 2, 2009 My son got this for his 4th birthday and everyone liked it. It doesn't seem very stable, but hasn't broken or anything. The older kids 10, 19 & 39 (ha ha) were playing with it too. Got a second one as a gift for a 10 year old. It doesn't come with any cars, I think it should have come with at least 1, if not 4... but that's just my opinion.
long lasting interest December 28, 2008 Purchased this for my 2.5 year old. He is now 3.5 years old and still playing with it everyday. I would say this is his all time favorite toy. It has held up fine, though my son can be rough he is not off the wall. Usually my husband and I will sit at the end of the toy and push cars to him and he sends them down the track. He will also play for long periods of time by himself with this toy. When friends come over they play with it as well. When we go on vacation we fold it up and bring it with us. Love that it folds and can be easily put away. Highly recommend it!
It's a great toy December 27, 2008 I bought this toy as a christmas gift for my son and he loved it. It's easy to operate no assembly required. It also stores great!!!
