2 out of 5 stars Replacement legs to be sent from Hasbro   January 8, 2009
My son (8) received this for Christmas purchased through Amazon.com. Like many others have posted the legs detach so very easily that the toy now sits in his room not being played with.

Today I called Hasbro and they are aware of the legs detaching and will be sending out replacement legs next week. I will revise my review upon receipt of these legs and a test run by my son.

The reason I am writing this review is that while speaking with CS at Hasbro I was told that the problem had been addressed and new models are being made where the legs do not fall off. Apparently the model I purchased from Amazon.com is one of the older models and probably why the price was significantly lower.

Other than the leg problem, my son was very excited to get the toy. I'm hoping these new legs will make him excited all over again. Please check back in a couple of weeks for my updated review with the new improved legs.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this vehicle!!   January 7, 2009
My son received this At-Te vehicle for Christmas (it was the ONLY thing he wanted) and from the moment he opened it he has been frustrated! The legs continually fall off and I am sick and tired of putting them back on. This is becoming increasingly frustrating for him and I can't believe Hasbro can charge [...] for this junk. I e-mailed Hasbro directly to tell them how disappointing the quality of this toy is. I know some customers can fix this problem with tubes, etc., but personally no toy should need such fixing. WASTE OF MONEY!!!!

3 out of 5 stars Majority Right - Legs Are A Problem   January 5, 2009
Luckily, I was able to purchase this for my son at a drastically lower price than what is being offered here - 50% less. I can understand why many people are upset, especially if they purchased it at the price listed. The product is made well and all the bells and whistles work great, but the legs do not stay attached and fall off easily. Not all the legs were doing this, but when 3 out of 6 come off that makes it a little difficult to play with it. Sad that Hasbro has very little concern for quality.

1 out of 5 stars Should Be Recalled Immediately   January 4, 2009
[...] I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it. If you measure it's educational value by how well it teaches patience, perseverence and handling failure, it would get five stars. As for durability, it rates less than zero. The 12-year old tried to put it together on Christmas for his 8- and 5-year old brothers. Tonight, I struggled with it for nearly an hour before offering to take it back to the store. I don't know why the kids said they want to keep it. I guess it's because they love Star Wars and enjoy placing the clones in the legless vehicle. That's right: the legs fall off. And, the doors fall open. I couldn't even find the place to insert the batteries, so the 8-year old brought out four screw drivers with the intention of dismantling the thing. I gave up when the boys shrugged and said their friend has the AT-TE and it falls apart the same way this one does.

4 out of 5 stars AT-TE no problem with legs   January 2, 2009
I was a bit worried about the AT-TE leg issue -- but have not had the problem with the legs coming off at the slightest touch. Both my boys love this toy.
