Amazon.com Review
Stand up and cheer for Mickey and Pete as they race around the Fisher-Price Mickey Motors Raceway! Children ages 3 and up will love revving up the engines and letting cars speed around the track. By using the Mickey hand elevator, the cars can be sent to the tracks high in the air, speeding down to the finish.

(what this means)

The Good: Racing game is colorful with Mickey-inspired design, and has fun sound effects.

The Bad: Racers don't race side-by-side the whole time.

In a Nutshell: Interactive racing game will keep young children stimulated with a two-level track, and fun sound effects.

Bright, Colorful Track
With a two-level bright, colorful track, kids will be eager to start racing their cars. The track itself features two lanes side-by-side, along with several Mickey-inspired touches to the raceway's design, including Mickey Ear archways, a Mickey Hand-operated elevator, and more.

Parents may need to help assemble the race course, which takes about 10 minutes. Although not necessary for racing, three AA batteries are needed for the sound effects to work, which we highly recommend for the enjoyment they add to the game.

Engaging, Hands-On Fun
Kids will love the interaction that the Mickey Motors Raceway provides. They can make the two included race cars (one with Mickey driving and the other with Pete) go by placing them on the launcher and pumping on the Mickey ear charger to "rev" the engine. A Mickey voice will count each time you pump, and when the voice reaches 10, it will tell you to "Go Racer One!" To launch the racer, you press down on the Mickey hand and off it goes. Kids will need to charge the racer after each lap to maintain speed, and Mickey will tell you what lap you're on.

One of the fun features is the elevator. As racers ride into the tower, depending on whether the elevator is up or down, they will either pass through or stop in the elevator. When they stop in the elevator, kids will love raising the elevator using the Mickey hand, and then watching the racers race back down to the ground on the red track.

Although there are two tracks, we wished that the racers would have raced side-by-side. Instead, the racers start from different ends and the game keeps count of how many laps the racers have done to see who is winning. We think the Raceway will provide a lot of fun for younger children, but older children might prefer a racing game that puts more of an emphasis on competition and skill.

Two racers are included, but more can be collected and raced to add to the fun.

Sound Effects Galore!
The Mickey Motors Raceway provides a variety of sound effects and sayings that will have kids thrilled and giggling. Mickey will say both cheerful and informational things such as: "I think we need a pit stop!," "Faster than a speeding mouse!," and "Hooooooot dog!"

What's in the Box

1 out of 5 stars Frustrating for kids and parents!   November 9, 2008

We just received this for our 3 and 5 year-old sons as a Birthday gift. It is Mickey, so they loved it right away, however the track does not stay together very well and is very frustrating for the kids. Parents - stay close while the kids play with it because you will have to constantly snap pieces back together! We have tons of Fisher Price toys and have even been toy testers for them before. I am shocked that this came on the market with the issues it has. Especially for the price, I would think twice about this one.

1 out of 5 stars WASTE OF MONEY   November 4, 2008

this toy is a big waste of money. if it didnt have the disney name it would probably sell for less than [...]. my daughter was bored of the toy after 1 day. she doesnt even play with it anymore and she loves mickey mouse.

the tracks fall apart easily (especially the upper tracks) and the whole toy seems to be made from cheap plastic. the cars dont run very smoothly. its hard for little kids to move the elevator up and down.

i cant believe i spent [...] on this piece of junk. get a better toy for you kids

5 out of 5 stars Can't get enough of the Mouse!   November 3, 2008

I bought Mickey Motors Raceway for my son's 4th birthday. I almost didn't buy it because of the reviews it had received. But, I'm glad I did. My son hasn't stopped playing with it since we opened the box! I will admit the red raceway is a little flimsy. It has popped out of place a couple of times, but not enough for a negative review. Mickey gets a thumbs up from this family!

4 out of 5 stars Very pleased!   October 1, 2008
I have 2 boys and they love this product! Very durable unlike some of the other Disney Mickey toys we have purchased in the past.
Even though the cars don't race side by side, they each have a car and the fun never ends.

2 out of 5 stars Somewhat Disappointing   September 29, 2008

We bought this today and were disappointed that the cars will only go 2 laps before you have to "charge" them again. The cars aren't really designed for "kid power" so that option would probably break the cars at some point. Unless there are two kids playing, only 1 car can really be played with at one time because one kid can't keep 2 cars running.
It does talk a lot, which is very interactive. But, it is pretty loud.
Overall, our son will like it, but $55 was steep.
Definitely, this new Fisher-Price line of Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse toys is WAY more durable than the Disney made toys we had purchased before.
