Awesome toy! September 11, 2008 Loved the toy! And the price. It was THE hit at a 3 year old's birthday party. I am planning to order one for my 4 year old daughter. She loves it!
tough toy for tough kids August 29, 2008 I bought this for our 4 year old son for fine motor and motor planning improvement. He was able to navigate this toy right out the box and because it moves 360 degrees, it really makes our son think about how to get out tight spots like corners, between & under furniture, etc. We have had the toy for about 1.5 months and have not experienced any quality issues. He plays with it almost every day and made his own special place to "park" it. We haven't tried it in water yet, so that may prove to be a whole different issue, but as for the "land" endurance inside & out, it holds up in our book!
Super Fun Toy! June 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What a great idea to have an outdoor r/c for little kids that can go thru anything! My 4 year old loves it and figured out the controls in about 5 seconds. The mighty r/c goes fast and only struggles a little in the grass. It does burn thru the batteries kinda fast, but only in the car, not the remote. A great toy!
My 3 Year Old LOVES This! June 13, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Now, we have not tested this on water yet. It was purchased so that we can play with it on the dock of our lake house and then play with it in the water too, but so far we've just used it on land. I must say it's a total hit!! My daughter LOVES it. The first time it went under the cars she freaked out...she thought she'd lost it. It has proved to be quite the educational toy...she's learned (1) the eye-hand coordination required to back it up and go forward until she gets it out of the "stuck" spot and (2) patience and perseverance in achieving the previously mentioned task. She has so much fun with this toy and her baby brother loves watching and chasing after it. This is actually something that Daddy can get involved in playing too (I need to get one for him to, so they don't fight over turns anymore). I highly recommend it!!
fun January 2, 2008 I ordered this as a Christmas gift... for my husband and 2 sons (age 2 and 3). I was hoping it would work in the pool, but it just kind of "lists" to one side and spins the tires in the water. So it wasn't destroyed in the pool, but it wasn't exactly functional either.
Maybe it's just me, but I have trouble mastering the controls as an adult. My husband has other RC cars and said it was a little less intuitive than some. All of us but the 2 yr old can make it work, but it could be easier to control. My 3 yr old has a bit of trouble because the controller is too big for his hands. The controller is thick and chunky... about the size of an xbox360 controller but with fewer buttons.
A week after Christmas, we're already replacing batteries. It hasn't been played with THAT much, so I'm wondering if it is a bit of a battery hog.
Favorite game for the kids (and the cat) is "chase" followed by "hide and seek." Guess I'd better get good at the controls!
